Nomads 24 Cricket Club – Rules and Policies

1. Membership and Conduct

  • 1.1 Membership:
    • Membership is open to all individuals who support the aims and objectives of the club, subject to approval by the club committee.
    • Membership fees are payable as determined by the club committee. This is mainly to cover the costs of running the club. All individuals would/may volunteer for unpaid assistance.
    • Members are expected to uphold the club’s values of sportsmanship, respect, and inclusivity.
  • 1.2 Code of Conduct:
    • All members, players, and supporters are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
    • Discriminatory or abusive language or behavior will not be tolerated.
    • Members are expected to adhere to the laws of cricket and the rules of any league or competition in which the club participates.
    • Any member found to be in breach of the code of conduct may face disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the club.
  • 1.3 Child Safeguarding:
    • The club is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
    • All members working with children or vulnerable adults must comply with the club’s safeguarding policy and any relevant legal requirements.
    • Any concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult should be reported to the club’s safeguarding officer.

2. Playing Rules and Policies

  • 2.1 Team Selection:
    • Team selection is at the discretion of the club captain or selection committee, based on player ability, availability, and club needs.
    • Fairness and transparency will be observed in the team selection process.
  • 2.2 Match Attendance:
    • Players are expected to confirm their availability for matches in a timely manner.
    • Players who withdraw from a match at short notice should provide a valid reason.
    • Punctuality is expected for all matches and training sessions.
  • 2.3 Equipment and Attire:
    • Players are responsible for providing their own personal cricket equipment.
    • The club may provide some shared equipment.

    • The club will play by the current laws of cricket, as defined by the ECB. Any local league rules will also be adhered to.

3. Financial Policies

    • Membership fees are set annually by the club committee, and are mainly the costs of running the club with no individual of the club being paid to manage the club.
    • Fees are payable by the due date specified by the club treasurer.
  • 3.2 Match Fees:
    • Match fees may be charged to cover the costs of match expenses.
    • The amount of match fees will be determined by the club committee.
  • 3.3 Club Finances:
    • The club’s finances will be managed by the club treasurer.
    • Financial records will be maintained and made available for inspection by club members.
    • All financial transactions will be conducted in a transparent manner.

4. Social and Events Policies

  • 4.1 Social Events:
    • The club may organize social events throughout the year.
    • Members are encouraged to participate in social events to foster a sense of community.
  • 4.2 Alcohol and Substance Use:
    • Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted at club events.
    • Illegal substance use is strictly prohibited.

    • The club’s social media and website will be managed by designated club members.
